Can you give me your user experience and insight into the MagicJack online phone?
I will be living overseas (I live in America now), and was looking for a cheaper way to call home than using long-distance on a cell phone there. I found the MagicJack and looked it up, but got really mixed reviews. I finally went to Radio Shack and talked to the guy there who said everyone seems to love it, he’s only had one complaint, so I caved and bought it.
I’m still debating whether to crack it open and set it up or return it and get my 40$ back.
So, have any of you ever actually used one? How is it? Is it reliable? How’s the call quality? Would you recommend it or not?

I’ve never personally used one, but it sounds too good to be true and with products like that, buyer beware.
I wasn’t too happy with the phone jack and 4 days after I got it, I returned it and got my money back. Wasn’t worth the money… At least in my experience.
Really don’t have much to say on the subject. just that I didn’t like it.
My sister has one. I’ve been trying to get in touch with her for three days and haven’t succeeded. I’ve decided that it has to be the jack since she wouldn’t dream of not returning my calls.
my dad has it and loves it. he raves about it as a great priced landline.
@jca and he hasn’t had a Problem with it Yet?
If you don’t mind my asking
How long has he had it? and What State does he live in?
he lives in NY and he told me about it approx 6 months ago. i have not asked him specifically but he has not said he had any problems. he just said he loves it.
huh… then it could be that some models come defective.
UPDATE: the phone works beautifully. I’ve been using it overseas for the past 2 weeks and it’s been absolutely great. Highly recommend it!
