I LOVE my Mini Cooper. It is fun to drive, easy to maneuver, and great on gas. Plus, it’s sooo cute.

I love my car. It’s a 1998 Volvo V70R with 165,000 miles on it, and I do believe it has saved my life at least twice, in serious accidents, and it is still rolling wonderfully, 23–24 MPG, kick-ass acceleration, fun to drive, good looking.

I drive a convertible 1988 Mustang GT 5.0 . Needless to say, i absolutely love it. Its fast as hell, fun to drive, reliable, and surprisingly, for a v8 engine, not all that bad on gas.

Last November I hit a deer & totalled my car. It was a Buick Century. They quit making them, in 2005, so I bought a new Buick Lucerne CXL. What a sweet ride! I am SO in love with this car. Especially last winter when I used the leather wrapped heated steering wheel.

I drive a 2008 Nissan Versa hatchback. Very fuel efficient, zippy enough for me, and pretty cute.

however, I wish I’d paid a little more and gotten a Toyota Matrix.

My car is great.
It’s a 2006 Suzuki Reno. Decent on gas (my husbands car is better, but his is a three door Ford Focus), great air conditioner (a must for me), no crazy mechanical problems like I had with my Ford. I can get the parts cheaply online, and my father does the work…so I save a lot of money. The inspections haven’t been bad at all. I used to dread them with my Ford because they’d always be upwards of a thousand dollars.
It’s also very cute, and unique.

Given my only criterium, that of navigating up and down a long driveway when it is covered with snow and possibly ice, I have been very happy with the Subaru Forester. it accommodates my long legs and has good head room.

The mileage is only fair but that pales with being able to drive home in a blizzard before the plows get to the secondary roads.

My favorite car I ever had was my Nissan Maxima. Bose sound system. Great safety features, very responsive. Why I would not have one again: that car took premium gasoline.

My current car is a Buick, which I hate because I associate it with old ladies. It is, however, reliable and economical. One bad thing: it is very low to the ground, which depending on where you live is a bad thing as I found when I moved to Florida where driveways are extremely steep and curbs are very high, because of flooding in the rainy season.

I’ve got a Nissan Xterra: manual shift, V6, 4×4, with an interior bike rack. Gets the job done.

I have a 2001 Camry with 143,000 miles on it. Although we’re looking at a new car sometime in the next 6 months to a year, I will be sad when we send this one away. This car has been wonderful in all kinds of NE Ohio weather, reliable from day 1 and physically comfortable. This has been my favorite car ever!

@jbfletcherfanI remember that. OUCH!

We have a Chevy Silverado 2500HD Crew Cab Truck with the 8-foot bed. The gas mileage is terrible, but I can haul all five dogs, my husband and the kids in it and still have room for luggage. In seven years and 100,000 miles I have had very few problems with it. It starts reliably, the AC works, it has plenty of leg and head room, and my neighbors love me because I can go to the dump for them anytime (and the truck is high enough to get through the periodic floods in our neighborhood). The biggest problem is that it is hard to park it.

We also have a lime-green Volkswagen New Beetle, with a sunroof. It is desperately cute, drives like a nimble sports car, is surprisingly roomy for something so small, and has decent gas mileage. The biggest problem is that a lot of things are over-engineered yet fragile, so small things such as latches and switches tend to break frequently.

I have a 2008 MINI Cooper S 6-speed
– and I Luuuuurve It!!

1) it is a blast to drive! Quick and agile.
2) I average 31 MPH and that’s with driving quite aggressively. (that is the true average; I keep tabs on actual gas consumption with an iPhone App… I find that the on-board computers in cars are on the high side)
3) It’s CUTE! I posted a pic on the Fluther PhotoBucket page – I’m on my iPhone now… I hope this link works!
4) It can take a hit! I had the car 6 weeks to the hour when a twit ran a stop sign and hit me twice. My baby was banged up but I was good (albeit VERY angry!)!

@hearkat I love my Cooper! I can’t see ever getting a different kind of car. I’m already designing my next one, in my head.

@tinyfaery: If money were no object, the new Audi S5 would probably be my next whip… those cars make me drool!
The greatest drawback on the MINI is if you have more than one passenger or substantial cargo. But I never do, so it’s the perfect car for me. And everyone who knows me agrees!—

@Marina I had a ‘93 Maxima with almost 170,000 miles on it. It ran beautifully and was a freggin tank. It was stolen last winter. Amazing car.

I have a 2002 Acura RSX Type S. I like the car a lot, but not as much as the 1994 Integra GS/R that it replaced. Unfortunately, Acura dropped the car from their lineup and replaced it with an SUV. Like the world really needed another stinking SUV.

I love the high-revving engine. The car handles very well, although not as well as the GS/R. I’m not as thrilled with the transmission, which is notchy and prone to crunching in 2nd gear (it was like that when I drove it off the lot, so it’s not a worn synchro) if I’m speed shifting.

robmandu's avatar

@IchtheosaurusRex, not really central to your point… but the Integra was not replaced by an SUV model. It underwent a name change on the last major facelift in 2002.

After 2006, the Integra/RSX was dropped altogether from Acura’s lineup so they could focus on more upscale market… leaving only the Honda Civic Si to fill that void.

IchtheosaurusRex's avatar

I know about the name change; I bought my RSX when it first came out. The name applied only to U.S. models; the RSX was still sold as the Honda Integra elsewhere in the world, until they discontinued it after the 2006 model year. They introduced the RDX – basically a CR/V with a turbo – in 2007. Not a direct replacement, true, but when they took the RSX out of the showroom, that’s where they parked the new one.

I haven’t looked at figures, but from what I see on the street, it’s not a good seller for them.
