Experience with shoulder surgery?

Asked by SuperMouse (30853points) August 21st, 2009

On Friday I am having surgery to have calcifications removed from my shoulder. I have done some research and of course spoken to the doctor, but I’m wondering if anyone here has any first hand experience with this. I’m not sure what to expect from the surgery itself, the recovery, or the rehab.

No experience with it, but good luck with the surgery! I’ll be thinking of you.

No I haven’t, but want to wish you well during your surgery. My good thoughts will be with you then.

No help here, either… but I’m sending you good thoughts!

I haven’t had shoulder surgery (one of the few things I haven’t had!), but I do know it depends on how they are doing the surgery. I’m guessing it will be less painful than the reconstruction a friend’s father just had, but it is still something that will take time on the recovery. real helpful, I know.

Good luck with your surgery – take it easy and don’t let the pain get out of control, stay ahead of the pain. Believe me, it’s much better that way!

Much lurve!
