@ everyone, thanks for the many kindnesses, now and in the past. We may not always agree, but that’s what keeps things interesting around here. We can all have different viewpoints and still be friends. I am very humbled by the words and wishes here, and to be a part of Fluther is an honor that I cannot come up with the words to describe. Fluther is the best thing I have ever been a part of, and I cna’t imagine what life would be like without it. I even got a wonderful poem by daloon, which was just the way I like ‘em, nonsensical. :^)

Congrats you crazy zebra, you were one of my first friends on Fluther and I’m sure everyone here appreciates your well-thought, insightful, funny, and sarcastic answers.

Late to the party… but yay for my favorite pet zebra anywhere!

Evelyns_Pet_Zebra is the cousin I wish I had. You know, kinda fucking crazy, but real cool at the same time. Hell, I’d probably look forward to family get-togethers just to see what this character was up to and what kind of trouble he was brewing for us to share. You have heard “never a dull moment”....well, this is the guy, the one you would want to hang with and call a friend.

I imagine there is an aspect of this guy each of you don’t like, perhaps that he would never kill a spider or nearly any insect, yet he is a hunter, that he raises snakes and roaches, and that he may have smoked more than a few of those in his lifetime, and that sexually, the guy is, shall we say, rather adventurous. But let me also suggest that I’m pretty damn sure, this is a jelly whom everyone universally appreciates and lurves a lot.

I mean, the guy really is a character, very colorful (and sometimes makes off-color remarks), and actually quite eccentric in my mind as it seems he treads through life somewhat off the beaten path or marches along to a slightly different drummer. And he is honest to a fault, sometimes brutally so. He has integrity and speaks frankly, always. And he aint a bit bashful of doing so, but, as we are all apt to do on ocassion, he sometimes screws up. But what is so refreshing about this guy, is, he freely and openly admits his mistakes and apologizes when he realizes he may have used a poor choice of words, or perhaps in a moment of insensitivity, he came down a bit too hard on a fellow jelly. And certainly, that practice is very commendable and unfortunately, one that we don’t see more commonplace among us, nowadays.

To one of my most favorite jellies and one helluva nice guy, who loves music and is not afraid to admit that Peter Gabriel brings him to tears; to the man who loves life and his wife with a heart the size of our dearest Evelyn (300 foot tall); to he who mocks the very hottest of the habaneros, and with whom I would dare to share the very flesh of my pet pot-bellied pig: CONGRATULATIONS Evelyns_Pet_Zebra on your 10K lurve milestone and your admission to the 10K Lurve Lounge…a very high achievement and very well-deserved reward.

Gorsh, I feel all tingly inside. Reading this would normally give me a swelled head and an ego the size of Texas, if I didn’t already have both of those. Well, the only thing that keeps my head from swelling is all the hats I wear, and as for my ego, well, that was burned up by some really hot habanero sauce years ago. It never grew back. GAs to everyone. I want everybody to get to 10K.

@whatthefluther , coming home was scary for me. We could barely see the ground and had to fly to 12,500 feet to get above the smoke. My ears are still not working right and we landed about 12 hours ago.
My husband is a great pilot but he is not instrument rated so we have to be able to see I where were going to be legal. I want to be more than legal though. I don’t even like to go near “marginal.”

@Judi…Wow, I bet that was scary, but if I recall correctly, you are not exactly a stranger to scary flights (if memory serves, I believe you once told the story of your pilot/husband turning to you in mid-flight, and announcing that he was sorry, but that he had really done it this time and was responsible for soon killing both of you, to which you responded no way buster, smacked him across the side of the head and demanded that he fly that plane to safety. Or, maybe not). In any regard, I’m delighted you are home and safe, hope your ear problem has improved and, that you are soon able to get some rest. See ya…Gary aka wtf
