What is the fastest web browser for a PC?
Internet Explorer is so sluggish. For me, speed is key. Have tried Chrome and Firefox but not Opera. What else is out there? I would love to hear your suggestions. Thanks.

Nothing overall is better than firefox, but I heard Google Chrome is faster.
Google Chrome = the best there is.
if you enable pipelining in firefox it will start several connections to the server to download parts of the website simultaneously, which will inrease loading speed.
i tried chrome. i was not impressed.
Yep Google Chrome fails in comparison with Firefox.
Have u tried K-meleon or Avant browser.
Opera is very fast as well. It depends what you are looking for. The more addons or unnecessary apps you need/want, the slower your browser is going to be.
Every browser says they are the fastest. Just depends what you’re doing.
increasing the memory of the computer will also work
When it comes to speed, Chrome is definitely fastest, but Firefox is best (that’s almost an objective fact) and is a good second when it comes to speed. You won’t find anything faster than Chrome or it would have to be a text-based browser like lynx but you really don’t want to use that.
Chrome, Opera, and Safari are super fast, Firefox is slower but has a lot more capability than Chrome or Safari thanks to extensions. IE6 is the worst browser currently is use, so anything is an upgrade. (IE8 is a little better).
throw internet explorer into the recycle bin. search brothersoft.com for browser, and u will find plethora of browsers.
Chrome has been shown to be fastest in actual tests.
google chrome is the fastest, if you like minimalist setups, there you go, but you can’t go wrong with firefox 3.5, it’s great, you can customize so it’s unique and as long as your computer is recent, (less than 2 years old), you’ll hardly see the difference…so if you need a decision, go with firefox, you won’t regret it.
Chrome hands down is the fastest. However Firefox does have all those nice add ons and extensions. But it takes forever to start up. If you have a computer with low specs though you should probably go with opera.
In terms of pure speed, chrome and opera compete for top honors. Firefox, however, has much more functionality.
Chrome is probably fastest but it’s also ugly. So if you can tolerate a very ugly browser then go for it.
The fastest? That’s debatable. One might be faster at loading javascript and another could be faster at rendering pages. Its just personal preference nowadays. I suggest you download all the major ones and choose which one you like best (firefox, chrome, safari, and opera).
I personally use firefox for addons, keywords, and the awesome bar.
I prefer Safari, however on a PC it isn’t so compelling so I always go with Firefox (which isn’t that great on the mac)
I have heard gooe chrome is faster as @mrgeneman has said
I have used it and it is speedy, but I’m not sure what the latest iteration brings, I don’t think it’s mature enough to be your main browser
I prefer firefox for the same reasons as @styfle add-ons, keywords and the awesome bar.
Here is a good article about browser speed tests.
I use Chrome for the occasional, but mandatory quick and dirty browsing sessions and Firefox for everything else. I have found that Chrome is faster, but only because I have every add-on imaginable plugged in to Firefox.
Hmm…IE is pretty slow at times. I heard GC was pretty ok. Safari is pretty fast. I usually alternate between Safari and IE. I’m not sure about Firefox though.
i tryed google crome and i dont like it at all beacuse it dont load pics fast at all so there for it sucks
