You've played Grand Theft Auto. Didn't you feel just a little guilty when you shot the innocent pedestrian in the face with a .45?
Or did you do so with childish glee?

I mowed them down in cars. I don’t care about them because they are digital bits, not actual humans. Games are for having fun without consequences :)
no, but i felt awesome whenever i did a guranga (mowing down the pack of joggers with my car)
It was an accident. Sorry
Not at all. But I do feel bad about smashing all those turtles while playing Super Mario.
Not really, I felt more guilty when I stole their cars and crashed them.
Killing people virtually probably keeps many of us from doing it to a live person. I like playing Bundy. I would kill all the hookers. Cheating to get the tank was always fun too. ah hell, violence is just plain fun no matter how you look at it.
I like shooting the cops, old people and hookers
It’s like a fetish for me
No, i haven’t played Grand Theft Auto.
I did play Project I.G.I. though, some years ago, with my brother, and we were both surprised how nice it was to shoot the enemies between their eyes.
Also a bit disturbed.
(Untill now) i never shot someone in real life.
I like saints row better
Throwing strippers off high places FTW
It was really fun walking up and starting a fist fight with someone. They would hit you back, thats when i would pull out the gun. They immediately start running away once there is a gun in the picture. “Not so tough now bitch” i would say as they ran and i shot them in the back until their chest fell off..
Getting the tank cheat and then running EVERYBODY down was a blast. Especially when it made the cars explode. I love to kill virtual people, that’s why Manhunt is such a fun game. The violent kills are too gross for words! Chainsaw thrust down the neck completely obliterates the head. Ooh yeah, take that, thug!
If playing violent games makes you act out violently in real life, then the problem isn’t the game, it’s you.
Never played it. Never curious to play it after seeing it.
Those strippers had it coming
Maybe just a little, but as @dynamicduo mentioned, it’s just a video game. Might I add, I feel even more guilty when I bump into someone in reality.
What about the films with even worse violence included? Or even, UFC, boxing, or any kind of sport that involves some level of violence?
Not really as they didn’t really have virtual families or much characterisation at all. Maybe if they were more realistic I would feel a bit of guilt but really it was no different to killing a baddy in any other game.
Personally, I don’t get into video games, but the boyfriend does. I can’t stand to watch the horrible things his does in his games. I know it’s not real, but it’s just unpleasant. He said he was forced to rape a little girl in… Fallout? I’m fine with stealing cars and running from the cops and killing cartoon characters in kiddie games, but I don’t like doing harm to people in realistic games.
Never played. The last shoot-‘em-up game I played was Lethal Enforcers on Sega Genesis (I think). But those were bad guys, so it’s okay.
Not that preachy wanker who was always outside one of the safehouses in GTAIV. It was actually a game I played, I tried to kill him in as many shots as possible. You’d be surprised at how much fun you can have shooting an annoying twat in the toes.
I didnt feel bad about shooting anyome in GTA but my wife got really pissed with I picked up a hooker did it and then ran her over with my car and took my money back.
She also got upset when I did the same thing to the paramedic.
I’ve played it but I found GTA really boring.
no because it is a video game
