Best large size budget monitor for FCP editing? Or should I go with a used Apple monitor or IPS panel? Any monitor people out there?

Editing in FCP and I want a large sized monitor (probably a 27in). Any recommendations? I was considering buying a used apple monitor- I found the old 23in ADC HD monitor for about 200–250 dollars- which I’m assuming is an IPS panel- however I have heard that LCDs degrade after a few years, so I’m weighing the cost/benefit- any thoughts on that?
For about 500, I found a S-PVA panel-

any thoughts on that and S-PVA, MVA, etc versus IPS- wide viewing angle is important as 2 people are sitting together on the edit frequently. Is an S-IPS or H-IPS hands down better than a PVA type?
don’t want a glossy screen- would think about just springing for a new mac led screen if not for this- i’m not sure why they did this-
This is professional work but color correction is a later step so it is currently not super color critical (may do some sometime however). I can spend the time to calibrate the monitor -
heard good things about the ultra sharp dells (24 in good, 27 in ok) – but mixed reviews on the colors- are they accurate? does anyone know anything about wide gamut color? I don’t want awesome impressive enhanced color- I would like subtle accurate color or be able to get there.
Resolution should be at least 1900×1200 for this size I think.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

@willbrawn final cut pro. i would recommend an ultrasharp from dell. i have a dual monitor setup with two ultrasharps, and i really prefer two separate displays to one large display. with the ultrasharp you aren’t paying an exorbitant amount for the brand, either. get a huey if you want perfect colour tuning
@Icky
What size ultra sharp do you have? Actually… I have a 20 in apple cinema display but I want to pair it with a bigger monitor. I really hate being cramped for screen space and I find that even with two monitors I feel that way. I don’t need perfect color but I don’t want them wildly off.
Do you like them icky? I already have an apple 20in cinema display- so I’m just looking to ad one monitor. It’s not going to match anyway so I thought I might get a big one. I had read about wide gamut with Dell’s but honestly don’t understand it… only that some people get oversaturated colors outside of color managed programs. Yet at the same time I hear a lot of people are replacing their apple monitors with Dells. FCP I should assume would be fine but I use VLC, Quicktime, MPEG streamclip and stuff like that quite a bit.
@rovdog i do like them. i would recommend them to anyone wanting good colour-producing displays. you wouldn’t regret buying them
Ok… the 24in Ultrasharp from Dell is on sale right now. I’m gonna check it out. My concern is viewing angle since two people will be looking at the image… I was thinking about maybe getting 2 and using one potentially as a video monitor (as in my external monitor- I’m sending video out through my firewire port and would go in analog)- have you ever used these basically as a TV- perform well? My other option may be to buy a used apple.
