Best conditioner/cleaner for a lambskin leather jacket?

Asked by Spargett (5398points) August 24th, 2009

I have a leather jacket that needs some maintenance. It’s made from lambskin, so it’s not like a hard polished cow hide. There’s a few spots I’d like to clean and I feel the leather as a whole could use a gentle conditioning.

This is the jacket

And as a bonus question: What do you do when you need to clean the inside liner of a jacket (arms/cotton interior)?

There’s a product called Meltonian that comes in a couple of variations, cream, leather balm, water and stain protector, and comes in multiple colors. It’s primarily sold as a shoe product, but one of my vintage clothing collector colleagues used the neutral shoe cream to restore a valuable designer leather coat – she was very pleased with the outcome.
