I'm getting my Anthro degree. Any suggestions for jobs with just a BA?

I’m less interested in people now than people ‘back then’; I’m most interested in the Ancient Mediterranean (Egypt, Turkey, Carthage, Greece, Rome).
I’m not real picky about what I do, but I also have a background in Bio and Chem, so I could possibly do lab work, but I have no idea what kind of education/abilities they look for in a job like that.
Also, does anyone have any good suggestions for good on-campus work? I seem to be getting passed over a lot, and I’m not sure if it’s because I’m not work study (yet) or because I’m young(ish) or because I’m over/under-qualified.
I’m rambling, aren’t I?
Thanks for any and all help!

Go to Egypt, Turkey, Carthage, Greece and Rome and see what is going on in research there. Good vacation. Maybe job.
I would think not about the core knowledge your degree provides, but the skill sets attached to it. The methodology, classification, research, etc. all translate into job skills. If you have some electives left, head into the business school and take whatever classes they offer in Project Management and Web Design usability. Both of those are really employable skills, and are good to get you started. Being able to run a project and keep it on task is a way to keep costs down on projects, and watching people interact with a website for certain tasks is critical to utilization. Cultural aspects affect interaction, and breaking down cause and effect is pretty interesting.
You need to network with professors and find out what they are working on in terms of research. Showing an interest in a project, doing some extra work on your own, and asking about employment are the first steps to finding a job. If there isn’t a position, and you’re interested in the work, continue to build a rapport with professors. Ask for advice.
The best way to gain experience in any field is to get yourself out there. Your degree will relate itself. For example, I have a BA in English and 7 years of experience managing a college theatre. Related, but not really. The important thing is to find a career/job that makes you happy; one you WANT to go to every day.
