How do you remove the "www" from the URL of a wordpress site?

in .htaccess file in the root directory…

RewriteEngine On
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.domain.com$ [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://domain.com/$1 [R=301,L]

though don’t tough any of the Wordpress generated stuff that’s in there.
