Does anyone have a topic idea for me?
I have this project for art class which is “Haute Couture” and we have to design a dress but we need a topic to start off with the design and I am totally blanked out of topics. So do you have any topic/theme ideas? Thanks.
P.S by topic I mean like e.g forest, insect, egypt etc

The dresses look like upside down tornadoes.
I know that isn’t very elegant. I am not that fashion minded. Sorry.
I like the Egypt idea. Maybe mix that with 20’s flappers.
how about something political? Like, some kind of revealing, non-protective, could-disappear-at-any-moment current health care system dress?
Techno-wizardry? cords, iphone, ipod, laptop, headphones, sunglasses, boots, lots of wires everywhere.

Make it look like a robot.
If I was in your position, I’d probably work backwards, first getting at last a vague idea what I wanted to design, and then deciding what kind of theme it fit into.
Maybe it would help to get an idea of what the big designers are showing re: predicted trends. If you go to style.com, you can look at photos of the runway shows for everyone from Dior to Westwood. If you’d rather look at overall trends, and enjoy snarky but very witty fashion commentary, let me point you to my favorite blog – it started out as project rungay, but has evolved and expanded from there. I read their stuff every day, and frequently LOL and have to wipe spit off the screen..
