Wherever you find it, let me know.
Motivation is a burning desire to Do. It’s waking up in the morning and thinking “By the end of today I will accomplish something, do something and be better than I was yesterday.” Motivation is realizing that you can, and should do and be better.
You get it when you grow tired of not having it. You gain more of it by putting it to work. You help it by reading good books, talking to good people and listening to good music.
You must dwell on the rewards of what ever it is you need or want. Motivation comes only after you have decided what it is you want and what you need to do to get it. Its pretty simple stuff. If you don’t want anything bad enough, you will NEVER have the motivation to go after it.
I think motivation and self discipline go hand in hand. It’s hard to be motivated if you’re not disciplined enough to chase the ideas that excite you. Try doing something interesting to you and don’t quite until you achieve the result you desire. Every time you achieve that result your motivation will grow (or at least it feels that way to me).
Pretend life is one BIG sexual persuit which leads to many wonderful orgasms, Dr.?
Alright this thread is over, @Da_Wolfman said everything you need to know. In fact I am going to tattoo that sentence on my neck so I never forget it.
Motivation is hiding in your psyche, somewhere underneath the hippocampus. It can not be scared out. Leave it some food, and keep on feeding it. Let it come to you.
We are all born with it – it’s called the survival instinct. People get motivated to run out of a building when it’s on fire. They become brave & motivated when they want to mate. You can look at it this way… You need an impetus ( a motivation ) to be motivated. Cause and reaction. Governments, advertiser’s etc. know this and use fear to motivate you to do what is in their own self interests. If you are feeling unmotivated then most likely you perceive no present need or impetus. You may then be a peaceful human being or you may be deluding yourself that you feel no present need to get off your ass and do something about whatever is bothering you because your motivated into denial ( unfounded self protection ). Or you may be under attack by the media that your not consuming enough. My solution – ’ Work smart not hard ’.
