Are there rules for participating posted somewhere?

I am very new to this site (Day 3). The conversations are quite lively and entertaining. I was directed here from a Google search on bread mold. Thank you for the great answers on that topic. I moved on to several other discussions and finally added an answer/comment of my own. Now I would just like to know more about participating. Specifically, are there spell check or edit functions and how can I comment on a particular post or do all post go to the end of the discussion?

There are no spell-check functions built in, but some browsers have them. I use Firefox and it wanrs me evry tme I mss up.
You can edit for about five minutes after you post a question or answer, but that’s it. If you want to make changes after that, or remove something you said, flag it and the mods will help you out. (They are brilliant, talented, and kind.)
All posts go to the end of the discussion. If you want to direct your comment to a particular user, type ”@particularuser”. That person will be notified that there’s new activity on the thread and should catch your quip.
Stick around and you’ll get the hang of things. Welcome to Fluther!
Here are the guidelines. That’s basically a nice word for the rules. You can also find them at the bottom of the screen on the right. :-)
@Rozee, welcome to fluther. Thank you for taking the trouble to get the feel of the place and ask about the customs. I hope you’ll be comfortable here.
I’m giving you a GQ (great question). When we like each other’s answers we give them a GA. There are no rules for how we do that. But there is a fairly low maximum from each person to each person, so if you give someone a lot of GA’s, you will see them stop registering in that person’s score.
@nikipedia The irony! *warns. Sorry, I just had to point it out lol
Hi Rozee, and welcome to Fluther! I’m the Community Manager here, so if you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to PM me. Just click on my avatar, and that will take you to my profile page where you can leave me a private (or public) message. In the meantime, enjoy!
If this is live, could you tell me how the @links are added? Maybe they are just typed in.
@Rozee type an @, and you should see a drop down list appear (if you’re on a computer and not an iphone). continue to type the person’s name in, or select from the list, and it’ll highlight below in the “preview”.
Good to know. Is it good manners to click on the Thank link? That is, is it expected or a bother?
Some people click on the ‘thank’ link, but mostly we thank one another in the actual thread and by clicking on the ‘great answer’ button.
@Jeruba I read many of your responses on questions about writing. I appreciate your style.
@augustlan In that case, thank you for your promptness in responding to me.
@eponymoushipster It was nice of you to help me out on how to add the @ address.
It took me a bit but I figured out that your icon is a monkey face. It’s cute.
Thank you for your kind remark, @Rozee. One other little thing here, and you’ll be pretty much all set.
Notice that after you add a post, a link below and to the right says ‘Edit this reponse.’ That’s what Nikipedia was talking about. It stays active for a few minutes, maybe 5, maybe 10. As long as it is there, you can add to your comment or make changes.
If we make changes after someone has responded to a post and/or GA’s it, we usually indicate that it’s an edit. (I don’t do that when I’m just fixing typos.)
If we’re responding to several people’s comments in a row, we usually combine them into one post rather than adding a string of posts.
May I also suggest that you fill in your profile a little so we can get to know you.
Good morning, @Rozee. I have no responsibilities here whatsoever other than welcoming you to Fluther. Have a great time and enjoy yourself. =)
