Is there a way to turn letters upside-down or backwards in Microsoft Word? Or, some application that does this that I can use and then copy/paste the symbol into a Word document?

I’m quoting a pseudo-mathematical formula that is used in psychoanalysis, and I need the “For all” symbol (looks like an upside-down A) and the “There exists” symbol which looks like a backwards E.

I see the chars you wanted explained on Wikipedia. You can simply copy & paste from there.
If you’re looking for a more direct approach, try using the Cambria Math font… it has both of those symbols (where Arial, Times New Roman, etc. do not).
In Windows, try going to Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Character Map for a comprehensive list. Word offers similar functionality at Insert > Symbol.
Try the Insert Menu: Symbol command, then from the pop-up window, in the Fonts pull-down, select “Symbol” font. That font contains that symbol plus other mathematical symbols (sigma for instance).
This is how I do it for MS Office Mac 2004; I think it’s the same menu in Windows. It’s the same place you insert images or other objects.
Hopefully it works on Windows-any Windows users out there can you confirm pls?
It depends on what version of word you have, but there are equation editors available for Word. I believe for the older versions it’s called MathType. With the newest version, there’s a built in equation editor. In either case, it has mathematic symbols.
(Try going to Insert -> equation editor in your version of word to see if it’s there. If it is have fun! If not I’d suggest googling mathType )
Here just copy this: ∃ It’s simple.
Upside down: ɘ ε ɟ ɥ ɯ ɔ и ๏ ɹ ʁ я ʌ ʍ λ ч That’s mostly all I know.. Hope it helps!
