How do I arrange a flexible presentation using any of the available presentation software tools (such as PowerPoint, Keynote or Sliderocket)

Asked by shilolo (18085points) September 10th, 2009

In giving a presentation/seminar, I’ve desired the ability to choose amongst several slides depending on the question asked of me. For example, at the end of my scientific seminars, there is frequently a Q/A session, and since I can predict some of the questions, I often prepare slides to answer them. I would like a system where I can see what slides I have next (like a menu of sorts) and then bring up the slide depending on the question. Can this be done using current tools?

I know in Powerpoint, you can create links to specific slides in the presentation. So you could, for example, have a slide at the end of your presentation that has links to all your anticipated answer slides, and click on the appropriate link when a given question is asked.

That is Keynote.

Is something like this what you want? If it is just put your cursor in the top middle of the presenter screen and a little drop-down will give you four buttons. Click the one called slides.

Then you can use the left and right arrow keys to select the slide you want. Hit enter and it jumps to that slide.

@johnpowell Something like that, yes. Preferably, it would be a slide or figure that I can click to go to the “answer” slide. I think I discovered the hyperlink feature in Keynote, and will play with that a bit.
