What are good ways to pimp your new blog?

I just started a blog (link is in my profile if you really want to find it, because linking to it via this question smacks of pandering and self-service) and want to build up a readership.
Besides writing good content, often, what else can I do to pimp it to the world, without adding like a million buttons all over every post urging viewers to “facebook this! twitter this! counterblog this! reddit this!” and without coming off as a crazed spammer?

Mostly all I did was link it to my profile here, and post links to new blog entries as updates on my facebook page. That said, I don’t have much of a readership.
Maybe we should agree to follow each other.
@Marina just wondering, do I have to learn how to bolg, now, too? Blogging is hard enough. Now Bolging? Sigh.
Put it on a street corner in vinyl boots.
alrighty then.
jay leno, riding down Redeo dr. one lovely sunny cali day, stops at the corner.
There, leaning up against a store front [some expensive swill shop] was non other than
“Lucy” ya, lucille ball. smoking a cigarette. she’s in her 80’s, ok?, so, jay rolls his window down and yells, “Hey!!, You got to show more skin if you want make any money!!!”
whether or not she got her “Blog” is her stuff. But, a nice big Purple hat, pink hansen sans-a-belt pants, flowered silk shirt, and oh, white paten leather boots, will make that blog work.
ok?
@daloon My typing needs more than the removal of the Caps Lock key to improve it.
Asking a question about it on Fluther and any other Forum which you can think of.
Email an announcement to everyone on your entire Contacts list.
Commenting on other blogs helps build readership. In fact, a huge chuck of my readership is based on commenting and building relationships with other bloggers.
Speaking of bolgs, what’s a chuck of readership? Like a fluther of jellyfish?
Add links to every other blog you come across and send invites to every name you have ever sent an e-mail to.
@Gail
My guess would be it’s more like a fulther of jellyfish :)
I can’t help it. I just loooove all things spelling and word related.
Actually, I wouldn’t ask a question about it on Fluther. We’re against shameless self-promotion – asking a question dealing with constructive criticism or a question about functionality would make more sense (like this one). Being a good contributor with a link in your profile would work much better.
@asmonet I guess I’m not a good contributor. Oh well.
