I just finished reading Crime and Punishment, and I realized that the article written by Raskolnikoff that was greatly spoken about was never shown to us. What would it say?
I really want to read it, or perhaps just get the main idea of what it says. could someone perhaps write it out? or show me a site to go to?

It’s been a few years since I’ve read it, but didn’t the police captain speak about it at length with Raskolnikov? I remember them discussing the most important details of the article, mainly Raskolnikov’s belief in an “ubermensch” type who could create his own morals that transcended the morals of society, merely because he was the “ubermensch.”
The point of the discussion was to show why the police captain believed Raskolnikov was guilty of murdering the old lady; if the latter believed that certain great men were above the rules, it was likely he considered himself above the rules as well. This would justify his killing of someone “beneath” him.
The point was clear and the article unnecessary. I doubt Dostoevsky ever wrote it.
Writing the unseen article sounds like the sort of homework assignment that teachers seem to be coming up with these days.
@drdoombot wow. that really helps get my ideas going as to what it withholds!! :)
@Jeruba seems like it!
