I need help with making a fun lesson plan for fourth graders to learn place value through hundred thousands?

I am currently student teaching a fourth grade class and the teacher asked me to create a fun way for the students to learn place value. I was thinking some sort of a game. Any ideas?

Make a sea serpent with humps to count the places below the decimal place. As the numbers get smaller the sea monsters humps get greater. Use colored chalk and start at the head. Make it dramatic and spread it across the whole blackboard.
