Can you help us with a possible name ( Baby follow up Q )
A while back Fluther.com was informed about the little bundle of joy in my partners belly , this is just a follow up as we went for the 3D / 4D scan today . We found out it is another little girl we will be having on or around 19th December 2009 :) , time for name thinking caps people .
Will give you the names of the previous children , that way no duplicates can be suggested . Amy Jessica Strachan : From the dictionary of demons , meaning 7th in line to rule the gates to hell :)
Imogen Strachan : From a baby book , meaning ’ Maiden ’ or ‘Blameless ’
Their mothers name is Louise
So flutherites we call on you to help with a baby name , All welcome and will be looked at properly .
Ok she is not due for a while yet , but we want to get the name well before she is born :)
This is also an instant GA from us to you, to show we appreciate your time and assistance
Here Is a link to one of the scan pictures :)

Magdalena Grace – I like the combination of a demon baby (just kidding) and the name of a woman posessed by demons. it’s actually what my husband and I are going to name our first daughter if wee have kids, but I’m willing to share
Yvonne {grandmother name}
or
Yvonne Neely
Soda or Seven.
Emma.
Wee Karn.
Do you have a gender for us? Sorry misread.
Offtopic: what is a 4d scan? I always thought time was the 4th dimension, did you get to see your baby’s development? Not trying to be a smart ass, just wondering what the 4d stands for.
I’ve always like Ryan for a girl. A good Scottish name – Greer (Greer Garson).
Irene (my grandma)
Hera (zeus’ wife. I think she was the goddess of women?)
Shay or Shae
Ava Strachan’s nice, too.
@sandystrachan That’s so cool it actually is time, a bit of a fancy name for an animated .gif though ;)
@jmah If I ever have a daughter, I might name her that :)
Some weird names of people I met: Uma, Ariel, Romi, Victoria.
Victoria (Winner, Conqueror) Adele (Noble, Kind) Strachan

On this site here, you can type in a meaning and it will find names for you.
Ella’s pretty, too. Ella Strachan. (lurve classic names).
Emily Jane Strachan?
Abigail?
Emma?
Elizabeth Rose?
Olivia Strachan
From the Latin word for olive. Symbolising peace and fruitfulness. Was first used in this form by William Shakespeare. – Source
Emse. Pronounced em’-zee. I used to babysit for a wonderful little girl named Emse and I’ve always loved that name.
I know a girl named Story, and I also always liked Flora, especially as a middle name. My great grandmother’s name was Flora.
You might find inspiration by looking through both of your family trees, as far back as you can go. Look at surnames in addition to first names, and see if you come across something that you like. We named our youngest son Colson, which was my husband’s grandmother’s maiden name.
Madeline, Wendy, Carly, Audrey, Ruby, Samantha.
Annabella – “Easy to love”
I also know someone whose maiden name Strachan, her first name is Holly.
Sandra Louise (or Lou)
Alexandra (another form of Sandy;) Louisa
Or as an homage to her birth month:
December
Thanks for sharing the scan…SHe’s perfectly beautiful! Bet her sisters can’t wait to see her!
Gillian has been a favorite of mine lately.
I also like Lyla.
Most of the names I planned to suggest have been already mentioned: Adele, Olivia and Madeline.
I have always liked Maralee (mare-uh-lee—stress on lee) because I think it is unique yet traditional at the same time.
I also have a friend who goes by Saundi. She uses it as a nickname for Cassandra, which I like better than the usual Cassie, but I like it as an actual name.
I think Bronwyn Louise is a beautiful name. My daughter’s name is Grace and you can’t go wrong there. I also like Katherine, Lillian and Violet. All would go great with Louise as a middle name IMHO
Penelope means dream weaver. Penny is a nice nickname.
My aunt is Reina, we pronounce it Rye-na. Means queen. Reina Stratchan sounds good to me.
How do you pronounce “Strachan”? Do you treat the “ch” as a gutteral?
Scottish “ch” same as we use it in Loch ,as in Loch Ness ess monster or Loch Lomand —everyone else says lock—So yea i guess it’s gutteral
@MissAusten have you tried putting the s and m the otehr way round making Esme – pronouned ezmay I like that too but don’t know what it means!
In the Latin American community Esme is often the shortened name of Esmerelda.
I have a friend named Lemay. I think that’s one of those unique but not to wierd names.
@Supacase I think Lillian is the prettiest name. Lillian Louise Strachan sounds really good to me!
