Do you tan better or is it more harmful to spend an entire half of your time on one side, then the other, or should you turn over often?
If you are going to spend 2 hours in the sun, should you do a full hour on each side, or is it better or more healthy to turn over on regular intervals? Assuming we don’t debate the health aspects of sun exposure for vanity reasons….. Thanks

I don’t know the answer but this question brought back memories of when I was a teenager tanning with my friends out in the back yard. The DJ on the radio at the time was Super Duper Charlie Cooper and every 15 minutes he would announce “tan turn time.”
It’s more harmful to tan period.
A tan is a sign of damage. Stay out of danger, instead.
I turn over every fifteen minutes or so. Mainly because when I lay out I do it on my roof, and the roof is not somewhere where you can get too comfortable.
Don’t tan. Pale is beautiful, really.
Tanning ages your skin. Don’t put years into it that isn’t really there.
I am now seeing the dermatologist at least twice yearly, to remove the unsightly and potentially dangerous skin nasties caused from broiling in the sun when I was a teen. Do I wish now that I had carried a parasol and worn long sleeves and linen slacks, except when swimming.
Edit: I should add that after my teen years and a few serious sun burns, I was careful…sun block and hats…but the damage had been done. My family will send my dermatologist’s kids through at least one year of college.
@WhoReallyKnows Since you’re asking about “healthy” you’re bound to get a lot of answers telling you that deliberately exposing yourself to the sun is not the most healthy thing to do—which is true.
My gut says that it’s equally ‘healthy’ to flip semi regularly or every so often—I remember reading that most of the damage happens in the first 15 or 30 minutes anyway (though I’ve looked and can’t find it again).
Some sun is good, but sunburns really are bad for you.
