How do I delete flash cookies from my MacBook?

Asked by PandoraBoxx (18031points) September 18th, 2009

I read an article today about flash cookies, and how hard they are to detect. What exactly are they, and how do I get rid of them? Do I need to get rid of them? Where/how to I pick them up? Are they more prevalent on Firefox or Safari, or does it matter which browser you use?

Hmmm. I had never heard of this until now. I found them on OS X.

I just deleted everything in that folder and made it read only. I will report back if anything breaks.

Thanks, @johnpowell. I clean out the regular cookies all the time, but these are supposedly really hidden.

If you don’t want to do it manually, then iTool is definitely a great option. Not only will it help delete your flash cookies, it will also help you perform weekly or monthly maintenance, clear .DS_store files, cache, and contains other important features. and it’s free.
