I managed to deposit the download folder of my macbook pro into the trash. Any suggestions for fixing things?

Can you specify what you mean by “download folder”? (i.e., is it found in your Library, is it associated with an application, etc.)
I’d like to help, but I need a leetle bit more info. :)
I mean, you can just make another folder, name it “Downloads” and put it back where it belongs…
After you make your new folder, do this and you will be cruisin’
Choose Safari > Preferences and click General.
Choose Other from the “Save downloaded files to” menu.
Choose the folder you want to use for downloaded files, and click Select.
