How much pedia sure should a 2yr old have each day?
I have a 2½ yr old that won’t eat but maybe once or twice a day and even then he doesn’t eat much of what’s on his plate. I bought him some pedia sure but couldn’t find where it said how much they should have a day.

Talk to the doctor about it…my son didn’t eat enough to keep a bird alive for a long time and the doctor wasn’t concerned…then he started losing weight and the doctor got concerned. He had me give him Carnation Instant Breakfast twice a day. He is better now and has gained a little weight. He’s 7 btw.
I used to give pedia sure three times a day (with each meal) to a child I was caring for, per that child’s doctor’s orders. The kid had cerebral palsey and had a hard time putting on weight. It certainly didn’t hurt him, any.
It’s rare that I give my 2 year old Pediasure. Not a consistent thing at all. If your concern is with weight gain and proper growth, I’d speak to his pediatrician about it. They can tell you the right amount for your child.
I’m going to agree with @knitfroggy and @casheroo that you should talk to the pediatrician. If your son is otherwise healthy and growing at his own rate, there probably isn’t a problem.
Does your son drink a lot of milk or juice between meals? Those things could really dampen his appetite. Try limiting fluids other than water, especially in the hour before a meal. Same with snacks. You might also ask the doctor about a multivitamin for your son, if he isn’t already taking them.
As for the Pediasure, I’ve never used it, but I think I would probably offer it to my child after meals. Give your son a chance to eat some variety, and if you feel he isn’t eating much then supplement with the Pediasure. Keep in mind that toddlers have very small tummies and won’t each much at one sitting. Good luck!
I agree about talking to your pediatrician before using it every day. I would worry more that he will get used to getting nutrition through Pedia-Sure and take even longer to return to eating normally.
Most children go through a phase similar to your son’s. My daughter was a champ as far as eating went until she hit about 2½. Then she started getting choosier and being uninterested. Sometimes she just wanted to play instead.
@Supacase Glad to hear that’s normal. My son is 26 months and starting to eat a lot less, but still active and growing just fine, so I haven’t been concerned.
Thanks for all of the advice. I am planning on taking him to his doctor next week. I’m not so much concerned with weight as I am with him getting enough nutrients each day. Thanks again.
