The alphabet (ei bi si di i ef yi eich ai yei el em en ou pi qui ar es ti llu dllu ex guay si) was invented and put into soup in 1066 by Vanna White to satisfy the hunger of her evil Mongolian overlord Pat Sajak. In order to save time it was arranged in alphabetical order.
Originally the idea was that Alpha 5 would make a bet with Zordon that he couldn’t find 5 humans in 5 different colors. When he failed to find a smurf to be the blue ranger, Pat Sajak invaded and devoured the lot of them, including lobster-red Jason who seriously needed to be basted in sunscreen first.
First designed by Scrabble, the Alphabet was later turned into a wall of letters so Vanna could turn them on.
I thought it was from the Alphabet Song.
Hilarious Loli, but if I can resist the urge to make the first answer funny shouldn’t you?

According to researchers Bill Martin, Jr. and John Archambault in their seminal work Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, our present alphabetical order derives from an incident involving letters ascending a coconut tree. While it has received extensive coverage in the popular media, the lack of independent supporting documentation for this theory has led to some scholarly criticism, particularly from supporters of the theory that the order derives from the way words are arranged in the dictionary.
