Can you tell me your favorite Canadian Bands?

This is sort of an off-shoot of @willbrawn’s question. I noticed that several people wanted to talk about groups that they loved from Canada, and I’m always looking for new music so I can compete with my overly hip younger siblings. So for those of you who are Canadian, or music buffs, or love this one band from Canada, to whom should I be listening?

Wow, my songbird tells me out of 39 artists listed, 12 are Canadian. Maybe I should just move to Canada.
Stars, Broken Social Scene, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra & Tra-La-La Band, & Do Make Say Think.
A lot of these bands all switch out members in between each other. So they could be all one SUPER GROUP. But they all rock in different ways.
LIGHTS. a 22 year old girl from Toronto. very electronic pop.
