The closest thing I could find, looking through a list of dispositions and the codes, was this:

NF: Appeal disposal NOT favorable to United States.

I looked through all of them and I couldn’t find “NFL” anywhere. Here’s a link: http://tracfed.syr.edu/help/codes/codeindex_judgepros.html

NFL stands for Not Referred for Prosecution.
Here is a .pdf file from the Arizona Supreme Court that states so.
It isn’t an actual acronym, folks.

ETA: How odd, in the HTML version it clearly says NFL, but for the pdf version it looks like it says NR. Now I’m not so sure.

It could also be referring to North Florida.

National Football League…?

It depends on the context. I looked through the urban dictionary and found a few candidates:

not fucking likely (if they thought he might not get out of jail or something)
nigga for life (if it was a demeaning characterization of his behavior)
not for long (if they thought he wouldn’t be doing something for long.

Can you give us more information on the context—perhaps more language from the disposition?

@daloon They were all on marijuana that said NFL and he had a medical card but it wasnt on him at the time of the arrest, so not referred for prosecution sounds right

@justus2…If I may ask, what state was he arrested in and any news (was he released by DA or court or bailed out, did they change disposition code, was the arresting agency local PD or the feds, etc). This could be interesting news for medical marjuana users in a particular state if say the state or feds are cracking down (e.g. closing “clubs” or dispensaries or ?) even tho a state approved medical marijuana use. There will probably be news releases if there is something going on and I respect your and your uncles privacy, so do not feel obliged to elaborate. Thanks….Gary/wtf

@whatthefluther Oregon and it was just that he didn’t have his card on him. He had a couple other charges also so he got 30 days, I am pretty sure the local pd. im not to sure, I only heard it from my family because I live in vegas. I also think the feds should leave the dispensaries alone

whatthefluther's avatar

@justus2…Thanks for elaborating and I agree with the dispensaries (soon to be wtf’s newest source for goodness in Cali….once upon a time, I had a source in Oregon who grew the most magnificent long spears of purple bud, but that was about 35 years ago which is more years than the age of 99% of you kids). May your uncle’s 30 days pass like an unfortunate brief nightmare from which he awakens to a bright new day but now, much wiser from the experience.
See ya….Gary/wtf

@augustlan….When you said “Hmpf” above, I’m guessing it wasn’t a typo for “Hemp”. I apologize or not following your prior instruction…may I plead temporary insanity? I lurve you. See ya…..Gary/wtf

If he’s in presion could it possibly mean “No Freedom Left”?

justus2's avatar

@Dr_C I said jail, not prison.

It can’t have anything to do with drugs cus I found someone on an assault charge that says the same thing and I’m wondering what it means too.
