Simple. I welcome you and give you great Question lurve. You now have 4 points. You take those points to another question, one you understand or find interesting, comment on it, and maybe gain some more lurve.
With the accumulated lurve, you throw a jelly party at the end of the year.
But seriously, you asked a question: so you’ve figured it out. The rest is on the Home page details section.
Happy fluthering.
First, you scroll down to the bottom of this page and read all the items you find there, then you begin responding to the questions, and ask one or two.
When understanding how this site works, one aspect that makes this very interesting vs other question/answer sites is that you can see others crafting answers in real time to your questions. This adds an extra element to the experience and makes the site seem more “alive”
You ask, we answer. We ask, you answer. Welcome to Fluther. :)
Why do you presume that it works?
Well, I guess that depends on your expectations, but it certainly works well for me. For example, I could have just gone into the other room and proposed marriage to my girlfriend, but I’m lazy. So I put this site to work here. And the site did indeed work for me. And, at the same time, we made some fluther history. So, put it to work for you. Are you looking to get engaged? See ya….Gary/wtf
PS: Welcome to fluther!
Waking up to so many newbies. I need to make a welcome thread!
1. Ask a question about something you really need to know.
2. Realize that you can ask anything you want with relative anonymity and ask a dirty question.
3. Realize that you can answer lots of other questions.
3a. Get your feelings hurt when someone makes you feel stupid. Swear you are never coming back.
3b. Learn how to format your text.
4. Realize that you can answer lots of other questions with hilarious answers.
5. Repeat every day for two years.
6. ????
7. Ben and Andrew PROFIT!
Review the guidelines. Exchanges ripostes with your fellow jellies in the threads (keep it germane to the question, though, or risk the Mods deleting it all.)
Find people whose answers you like and add them to your Fluther so you can follow them.
PM people you find interesting and start to form friendships.
Fill our your profile so the mighty database engine can send you the Qs you are interested in.
Enjoy!
Well, those are all very sensible answers, but when I read the question, I thought you were asking something deeper—like what makes this site tick, or something. I’d be interested in hearing what people have to say about that, anyway.
