Welcome to Fluther!
do you mean the “shooting out” effect on the box they’re highlighting? I wouldn’t necessarily call that a drop shadow…
to do this you would just make a custom shape on a new layer, and then give it a gradient fill from white to black, then adjust the gradient accordingly. At least thats how I think they did it.
Hope this helps!
I can do it for you. How exactly do you want it and with what images?
No but I would do it similar. Also I would make it black to transparent instead of black to white because it would cover whatever behind it and use a pen tool to get the curves on the sides.
I’m going to make a screen cast now. I’ll post it in a few minutes.
I will watch it! I was trying to make a opacity/transerency gradient two days ago and was going bonkers. I couldn’t figure it out. I’m using cs4.
@patq7590 Haha okay. Im using CS4 also.
Youtube is taking fooooreeever.
Alright here’s the video on how to make the drop shadow thing. It should be done processing soon. Hope I helped!
great video! I still can’t figure out how to make a gradient transparency though.
@patg7590 Thanks! All you need to do to make the gradient transparent is click here at the top in the little gradient drop down menu. Remember, you want this instead of this.
@TheCreative hey thanks! except you forgot, i’m completely helpless and stupid and I don’t have that as an option! lol No seriously I don’t have that as a choice in my gradient box. Is that something you can export and send me?
@patg7590 I think I can. What’s your e-mail. PM me and I’ll e-mail you.
