Will someone tell me the difference between My Space, Facebook, and Twitter?
I am trying to decide which one to join.

Don’t even include MySpace, it’s dead, Twitter is kinda boring, Facebook can be fun if you have friends on it.
All three are social media platforms that allow you to connect with individuals in the cloud. MySpace is more for artists/musicians who are looking to post media for people to listen to and to get fans. Facebook is a good way to connect to your co-workers, high school/college alumni network, and family. It allows you to post video, pictures, send people messages, write on their walls, and post your own updates so people know what you’re up to. Twitter is more like a status update. It consists of only 140 words, and, depending on who you follow on twitter, you will receive the posts of the people you are following whenever they update. Twitter can be somewhat overwhelming, and if you’re not spending a lot of time in front of your computer, you can miss a lot that is going on on it. I would recommend Facebook as your first foray into social media.
I don’t know a thing about Twitter. It seems a little over the top to me. Who wants to know my every move? And I don’t need to know every minute of what anyone else is doing, either.
From what I’ve heard, MySpace is going down the tubes. Security & stalking issues are big there, too. Personally, I LOVE Facebook. I’ve connected with family & friends there that I’d lost touch with. You can group people together there. I have lists for people from the local bar to the church. Here & Askville. It’s a great place to stay connected.
Mostly the spelling and the placement of advertisements. I’m convinced that all 3 are nothing more than a blatant (and voluntary) archive of personal data for use by whatever power needs it.
Myspace is terrible. Full of viruses and just plain awful. Twitter is cool, but somewhat limited. If you can only join one, (why only join one?) I would choose facebook.
@lvankirk explained them all perfectly. lurve
Do you wear dark eyeliner, only look good from a certain camera angle, and write poetry full of angst? Would you like to express your cheery nature by bestowing glitter and pink hearts upon your friends? Looking to write “omg i luv u!!11” on your favorite band’s profile along with an animated .gif (amongst thousands of other fans)? Then Myspace is for you.
Are you slightly antisocial in your current environment, and wish you could look up old flings from your past to reminisce about the olden days? Wondering who that promiscuous cheerleader from your highschool actually got hitched to? Need a place to vent about your work and lecherous coworkers (having forgotten that you’ve added your boss as a friend)? Then Facebook is for you.
Would you like people to know when you go to the bathroom, eat your last cup of ramen, or think that it might rain in 5 minutes? Are you part of the generation that cannot express feelings in over 140 characters? Were you so incredibly outraged about the premier of a new television series that you must make sure it becomes a trending topic? Are you so obsessed with a celebrity that you must follow their every move and thought? Then Twitter is for you.
MySpace always seems to flood with people you’ve never met, are never going to meet and don’t really care about. I have no interest in Twitter but most of my friends are on Facebook and I enjoy the most
