What are the best apps for an ipod touch?

I just got an itouch, and am looking to load it up! I have the basics (remote, facebook, flickr, fluther, nytimes, etc) but am curious if there are other apps that make your life easier. For example, on the plane last night I was so glad I had a flashlight app! It really worked.
I’d be specifically interested in any Paris/travel/voip/food apps you can recommend.

My friend has a facts app. I’m not sure if it would be useful, but I loved it!
Echofon, ESPN ScoreCenter, Textfree, Mafia Wars, Diggle, Slacker Radio…just to name a few.
P.S. There is no iNano, no iClassic, or iShuffle, its just ‘Touch’
Skype
Facebook
Nimbuzz- like adium or trillain, insludes facebook chat.
Remotepad- use your ipod as a mouse and keyboard. free and works with mac windows and linux
Flickr
VLCRemFree- control VLC from your ipod touch
Boxee-control Boxee from your iPod touch
Rope N’Fly 2-fun free game
TapDefense- fun free game
Pandora
Yelp-find good local businesses
AppReviews-find apps that are on sale or highly rated
Choose Your Own Adventure-Return to Atlantis-the only paid app in the bunch.
to name a few
Food: Urban Spoon and AllRecipes
Movies: Fandango and Flixster
Music: Pandora and iheartradio
Sports: ScoreCenter (ESPN)
Other: The Weather Channel, Google, i.TV (like a TV guide)
Games: Tap Tap Revenge 2, Paper Toss, Trace, geoDefense, Mr. AaH, PewPew
I live in Paris, so things like Urban Spoon, fandango, and Yelp aren’t really useful for me. I’ll check out appreviews, I guess.
