Many times when I click on the “contact” button at the top of the page, I see a banner inviting me to join the chat at the link provided.

Yeah I get sent there sometimes if my questions don’t make the cut. I think of it like solitary confinement.

Here I have as much time as I want. There it seemed all rush rush rush.

I got my fill of chat rooms on AOL. I always find myself two statements ahead of everybody else in a chat room.

I was aware of it from reading mentions of it in various posts but I have a question.

If this is an official part of Fluther which the founders want to encourage the use of, then why be so oblique about it?? Why is there no consistent link to it on the main page. There isn’t even any mention of it on the home page on an ongoing basis. Why?

It just doesn’t make a whole lot of sense to me. Other sites in which I have participated which have a chatroom, have a place for it on the homepage with a clickable link.

There is a link on the contact page that links to a page that links to it. My understanding is that they don’t want to make it obvious since they don’t write it. It doesn’t look like Fluther and it doesn’t use the same database. But Bendrew could shut it down if they wanted.

It was pretty much a quick and dirty way to get me to shut the fuck up.

I was under the impression that you are a long term member whose opinions are rather well regarded. So how does creating a chatroom shut you up?
