WHITENING TEETH SAFE?

I have occasionally used expensive gels and molds made by dentist. Will all the enamel fall off my teeth in 10 yrs? Aging, and coffee and tea stains all yellow teeth...not so attractive. What about the cheap stuff sold at CSV?
