Does anyone know what the movie Casablanca is all about for the storyline?

I watched a movie called Casablanca the original one and I cant work out what the story is all about.

A World War II hero has escaped a Nazi concentration camp, and is trying to get himself and his wife to America to appeal for help against Germany (this takes place just before Pearl Harbor). They are supposed to meet a man with stolen documents that would allow them passage to Lisbon, then to America, but the man is imprisoned and killed by the Prefect of Police. However, before his capture, he leaves the documents with Rick, a casino/bar operator, who, as it turns out, is the ex-lover of the hero’s wife. Rick, who still stings from the abandonment of his lover, then has to decide whether to give the documents to the hero, or have him imprisoned, and take his lover to America.
2nd best movie ever.

I never got the whole Hepburn/Nun bumping uglies with Bogart thing. Thats a good movie too, but not even top 20
