Can I get a pay as you go plan for a G1 phone on TMobile?

Asked by uniquenewyork (295points) September 27th, 2009

I got the Google G1 Phone for a school project but I don’t use TMobile as my carrier. Am I able to use the phone on a month by month basis?

Not on T-Mobile in the UK.

I think you can. Just stick the sim card in and see what happens. My friend is using his G1 with a fido plan when hes in Canada.

You can use it for voice on pay-as-you-go, but you won’t get data. To sign up for a data plan, you are required to get a monthly voice plan.

It sucks, I know. I would get a G1 with pay-as-you-go voice and a data plan in a heartbeat, if only they would offer the service.

Yeah but the G1 has built in wifi. Which works pretty well. So i;d skip the data plan if I where you.

Yeah, but where can you catch WiFi? I live in NYC and I can never find a signal when I need one.

Oh. Doesnt starbucks j=have wifi? As well as all the other fast food places?
