The dinosaur from Meet the Robinsons…just watched that movie last night and must say, he is the best part.
Annoying and bratty 16 year old girls using the word “cute” for everything they like
Honestly when I hear the word cute (from a man’s perspective) I think ,if talking about a girl, it means she’s attractive enough physically that you would like to get to know her more and maybe have a relationship but that she’s not a 10.
Otherwise, cute makes me think of something un-threatening (puppies) or girly (arts and crafts) lol.
1. Attractive, but not in the right way for me.
2. Clever or amusing, but not enough to dwell on much further.
3. When used by me in a flirtatious conversation with someone new, it means “I want you naked ASAP.”
4. In the most conventional sense when applied to charismatic young children.
Baby people and animals
I hate to be called “cute”
To me, it means endearing and non-threatening. Over-the-top beauty actually puts women in the “threatening” category for some (most?) men because there’s a real potential for getting the ego crushed.
I think cute evokes a nurturing instinct in people. I think of kittens and other baby animals when I think of cute.
To me “cute” means animals or babies.
For me to say “that guy is cute” would probably mean that he is good looking but not in an attractive way kind of thing.
Unless it’s in reference to small animals, I think I’ve mainly overheard it in a condescending context.
i.e. “You’re trying so hard! it’s cute (but really pointless and I think you’re dumb for trying)”
My girlfriend says I am cute all the time and I don’t understand why.
this thread has crushed me
Hard to say. People are saying it doesn’t mean attractive, but that’s not the case for me. My boyfriend is beyond cute and he’s very attractive to me (obviously). It’s not just his appearance that’s cute either, his personality is cute as well.
Cute is just something that makes me go “awww”, whether it’s a guy, a kitten, an action, a picture, etc. Not easy to describe, I know.
And I love being called “cute”. ^_^
@Syger Wait, that just reminded me of the only other way I use cute! That is, when my husband does something or says something that really sums up his lovable qualities and reminds me of part of the reason I love him so dearly, then my heart is so full of affection that I simply must tell him he is cute. So don’t worry very much; It’s likely just here way of showing appreciation for your existence.
Appealing and attractive.
It’s a compliment but being called beautiful has a much deeper meaning in my eyes.
