How would Leopard run on a 12" Powerbook G4?

Many people think Leopard is faster than Tiger but I’ve noticed it is a bit slower on my Intel iMac (not the aluminum one) and I was wondering if anyone has installed and been able to use Leopard at a respectable speed with a G4 based Mac or Powerbook?
I was thinking of using some Terminal commands to kill things like the 3D dock and the translucent menu bar, would that increase the speed at all?
