Why are people giving Uncharted 2 beta codes out ?

Even for the ps3 these codes are being gave out , contests and what not just to play beta . Don’t people know it’s already FREE in the PS store ?
Everyone can play beta version NOW without doing contests and competitions , Why do sites feel the need to not inform people this information

Sorry I’m late on this.

The answer’s pretty easy actually. It’s about promoting the game more than making the demo available. The PS store comes out with multiple demos per week, snd not everyone knows all about the different video game news sources, so they’re just trying another way to get the knowledge out there.

Alternatively- They got leftover codes and wanna get rid of them without just chucking them into the trash.
