And, make a rather nice living at that.

Listening to music would be awesome , bathing/swimming, sleeping, traveling, acting, shopping, breathing, sleeping, eating.
I do in graphic design, photography and teaching.
Secretly though, I’d love to own a comic book shop and be comic book guy. Perhaps when I retire (of course by then all comics will be digital and read on tablets).
I know this is crazy talk, but I wouldn’t mind being a pioneer housewife. That’s the stuff I’m good at – spinning yarn, knitting, making soap and candles, the kitchen, the garden.
Ahhh.
I’d love to own a coffee shop on the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Just a really relaxed joint that offers great drinks and wonderful little meals and snacks (Jane, my internet wife, can be the baker). Free internet connection to all. Hours are 6 AM to 1 AM.
I’LL BE THERE FOR YOUUUUUU
Yeah, that sounds perfect.
A worldy traveled musician. There’s nothung I want more than to entertain the masses with my guitar. I’m good at it and I love doing it. :)
My number one dream would be to work for National Geographic, which would nicely combine several of my passions (photography, travel, and/or writing).
Another thing I’d like to do is open a wine bar, with a particular vision.. I love the wine bars in Italy. They’re usually pretty low-key, the music is good, wine prices are accessible, you get snacks (olives, capers, nuts), and it’s generally the perfect atmosphere to go and chill for a bit with friends, unwind, and talk.
I forgot to add; local bands would be welcome to perform sets there. If they are good. I have a “No Shitty Music” policy.
Lounging in front of the TV. That would be my dream job.
I love movies and I’ve been working on and off as a translator for a while, so I’ve always thought I might try to break into that business (doing subtitles). I am also fairly fast in typing and computer literate, so I could do it easily. The problem is most companies just get really cheap crappy translators who are expected to do the job in a day with no regards to quality.
I’d love to make board games, or at least computer games, and I have done both in the past (but mainly as a hobby).
And I’ve been a professional singer for most of my life, which was quite good fun too :)
Being a wedding coordinator. I know there are jobs out there but in my small town there isn’t really a need for that. It’s always been my dream though.
I’ve learned to enjoy not working (no alarm clock, commute or long hours), but I think I’d have a lot of fun being @Grisaille ‘s musical coordinator, enforcing his music policy, drinking his coffee and eating Jane’s baked goods. I’d be a fixture like Norm on Cheers but with no tab, a sizable paycheck and a laptop open to fluther. See ya….Gary/wtf
@whatthefluther You’re in, on one condition. You need to think of a catchphrase.
I’d run an art coffee shop(with performance and gallery space] alongside a creative reuse store with my husband here in Pittsburgh, and get paid extra to continue painting (probably primarily portraits) at my leisure.
Definitely a nature photographer. I’d love to spend my days in forests, beaches, mountains, deserts, etc, looking for the perfect shots.
My second choice would be a beer taster/reviewer…mmmm, beer!
Traveling the world on my bicycle.
I would be a writer, writing lots of novels that allow me to quiet the stories in my head (or at least sort them out.) I would also teach creative writing at a university, that, would rock. Even at Gonzaga, that would be a dream come true.
I’d love to make money with my music.
I really want to open a club karting track with my husband. He loves racing karts (no to be confused with go karts these are shifter karts that go up to 120) and I am very good at running retail business and have a dream of building a mixed use community with residential, an Inn, and retail shops like a store to buy driving gear and karts, small grocery store and a couple small restaurants to support the area. The club house would have room to hold parties from weddings, to corporate, to kids who want to rent go-karts on their birthdays. We would also have at the club house a large pool, tennis courts, and a movie/theatre room, and maybe a golf driving range. This way the whole family could enjoy time at the club. If anyone wants to help us with some VC money let me know.
Animal rescue. I’d like to have a shelter that takes in animals that are about to be euthanised, and offer these animals at chance at life and happiness. A place where they can run and play and learn until they can find they’re furrever homes.
I would love to shop for a loving and swim for living
@Grisaille….Call it:
Cafe citiZen…” the music never sucks & never stops”
When do we open.,...I’m booking a flight! See ya….Gary/wtf
Designing, building, and creating furniture, art and other home decor items. Writing about it for a shelter magazine. Selling said items. This was my actual plan until the economy tanked. :(
I’d love to be a consultant researcher: basically, when someone wants to know something about anything, they contact me. I do research about a specific topic, write a short abstract of the info, get paid a large sum, and move on to the next job.
I’m also interested in doing conservator/conservation science work, but I have a feeling that it’s a “small world”, so to speak, and can be difficult to break into.
Hey! Wouldn’t it be awesome to get paid lots of money to walk dogs and pet/play with cats? (Of course, I do this for free, but still. :D)
@evegrimm A friend of mine kind of did the research write an abstarct thing for a magazine she used to write for. They would give her the topic.
Flying commuter spacecrafts in the outer solar system.
The perfect job for me is unfortunately one that probably will never exist. I would be the perfect time travel explorer.
You better not step on any butterflies.
I specialize in butterfly assassinations >:)
