Spec differences between Macbook Air and Macbook Pro?

Asked by Supergirl (1696points) January 29th, 2008

I read the differences at apple.com, but really how different are they going to run? Is the Air slower?

Macworld also ran lab tests on the MacBook Air, comparing it to 4 other Macs. In summary, “Our tests reveal that the slower processor and disk make the MacBook Air quite a bit slower than the other portables in Appleā€™s product line. The MacBook Air was also outpaced in our tests by the its closest desktop cousin, the ultra-compact 1.83 GHz Mac mini Core 2 Duo.”

The MacBook Air took a pretty large step back in performace for portability’s sake.

Its slower than the current MacBooks and significantly more expensive. So if size and weight is your biggest concern and money isnt, then the MacBook Air is for you.

The idea behind Macbook Air is for people that are mobile and that already have a main desktop computer. Its for people on the go.

If you are a laptop-only kind of person, I’d recommend Macbook Pro..its much more powerful..just Google the benchmarks.
