Alternative to swiffer wetjets?

I heard they’re not good for my furry friends so I was wondering if I had other options. And if these options could not include scrubbing on my hands and knees that’d be great.

I like my Euro Pro Shark Steam Mop pretty well. Only drawback is the recommend distilled water. The pads are washable, which is nice.
The Method Omop is pretty good.
Good old pail and sponge mop. Works just fine.
I’ve been using a swiffer wetjet for years, and my two cats seem just fine. What is it about them that’s any worse than using Mr. Clean (or the like) and a mop?
That is apparently an urban legend: http://www.snopes.com/critters/crusader/swiffer.asp
That said, a swiffer isn’t my first choice; what about one of the microfiber mops? The cloth part can be thrown in the washer instead of in the trash. (I personally am still using a sponge mop & bucket. My daughter is getting a steam mop & I’m going to try it!)
I did research after someone came up to me in a store telling me it could kill my cats. It’s fine for them.
But, I only use the Wetjet as a quick fix, we use a mop with a natural orange cleaner every other week. I’d love a steam mop though!
I have a Clorox wet mop & it’s just about useless. I’m back to the bucket & sponge mop for the kitchen & dining room floors. We have a wood grained flex floor & it doesn’t clean them worth a hoot. As for the bathroom floor, I’m even back to being on my hands & knees. I was just there today. That Clorox thing leaves dirty marks in the corners. I have to get down & clean them out anyway, so I just am doing the whole floor. I wondered about that Shark steam mop. @PandoraBoxx , tell me more about it, will you?
