If you are deciding on voting for the Tories in the next election could you give me reasons why?

I want what polices do you like, and not much more unless you feel it’s necessary

I live in the States, and I’m not eligible, but isn’t David Cameron a smarmy git?

(I watch PM’s Question Time.)

@pdworkin
I’m bias so this isn’t going to be fair on poor old David Cameron, yes he is. :P

I’m open to hearing why people are going to vote Tories. I’m wounding do parties win or does the party in power just loose? I’ve heard many people say they’re voting Tory because they don’t like labour, rather than they like Tory polices. From recent polls 54% of the population do not trust the Tories, so why vote for them?

From what I can see the Tories are the British equivalent of the Republicans in America (Founded by anti-slavery expansion activists). If so, I wouldn’t be caught dead voting Tory if I were British. I am a Democrat and a liberal, through and through.

God, King and Country indeed. The Republican equivalent is God, Country, Liberty. The Democratic motto is Ask not what the people can do for you but ask what you can do for the people.

@inthecarofthe I think you are onto something when you ask “do parties win or does the party in power just loose?”

This is why so many people who would like to vote for Lib Dems maybe don’t, they see it as a backdoor vote for one of the other two. I think I’ll be going Lib Dem this time and just hope others start to think the same. But then do they have enough experience at the top level to do the job? So many questions !!

The question perhaps should be “Do parties win, or do the people lose?”

I will be voting Tory if for no other reason than the country seems to be a shadow of its former self under Labour! But seriously, will the Tory’s be that different from Labour…no. But do they deserve a chance…IMHO, yes. As for specific policies..they may cut taxes (good), they will probably curb immigration (on the fence but probably bad), they will be more anti-EU (bad)..so on balance – see above.
