How do you deal with sweaty hands?

Asked by phydeax (18points) October 7th, 2009

I am a pretty confident and outgoing guy who has no kind of anxiety issues. However, I notice that my hands are often very sweaty and I do not know what do to solve this. I’m not interested in anything drastic like sweat gland surgery, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a good tip in this area other than just rubbing your hands on your shirt.

I rub it into my shirt. You should google hand sweating problem. Maybe there will be a solution there.

Some people use an antiperspirant on their hands, one that contains aluminum chlorohydrate as the active ingredient.

There is a machine that uses a low-level electrical current called iontophoresis to “shock” your sweat glands in your hands into not working for a while. You can read about it here.

Some people use biofeedback or meditation to learn how to control the stress that can make hyperhidrosis start up.

Talc and baby powder aren’t a good idea because you end up with your hands caked with white stuff, so you can’t touch anything dark until you can get it all back off.
