Do you like the idea of a Pajama Party for New Years?

Asked by JLeslie (65790points) October 8th, 2009

I was thinking of having a New Years Eve party, dress code: pajamas. People would be comfortable, and if they need to crash at my house they will be ready for sleep. Might be funny to see what people wear. I was just wondering if others find that appealing, or if they would prefer to wear what they want?

Another thing, where I live now, the people I know, I have a feeling, no one will actually crash at my house, would you do that? I know my college friends would, even now, but this group where I live, I don’t get that impression. Don’t get me wrong, they always show up for parties in general, people are very social, pot luck dinners, wine tasting parties, etc.

I have one every New Years, by myself. It’s just not my holiday.

I think this is a wonderful idea. I would definitely attend a party like this.

I would definitely go to this party! I love parties that require me to be creative with my outfit. Added bonus, it’s a flashback to 4th grade when we all used to have fun little sleepovers with our friends.

Do it! Creative parties are always more fun. Plus pajamas are sooo comfortable. Just be careful that you don’t have that one friend who “sleeps in the nude” and shows up dressed, or rather undressed, as such.

That sounds like fun! My friends would love something like that, even if they weren’t staying over. I guess it depends on your guests.

What about a Panties, PBR, et PB&J party for New Years???

Bunch of drunken people in Pajamas?

Sounds like a back door excuse to have an orgy.

Oh, how fun! Can I come???

Orgy here I come!!! Er—i mean pajama party…cough

Crap. Are people going to assume it is an orgy?

I didn’t mean there was the assumption everyone would sleep over, just they could easily crash if they wanted to. We have 3 guest rooms, and sofa’s people could pass out on if they didn’t want to drive home.

@JLeslie Maybe if everyone wears these type of pj’s no one will assume it is an orgy. ;)

@jonsblond I didn’t even know you could buy those in adult sizes LOL!!! I was just thinking “pajamas” with funny prints, “old man pajamas” or easy-to-wear loungewear so you are comfortable. Maybe some would get really funny with curlers and a robe, I don’t know. They could be as creative as they want.

A group of friends and i have been doing something similar for years. It’s a couple’s night. We do our anual pre-christmas dinner as a group… dinner drinks music games… al while wearing PJ’s. It’s always a great time.

@JLeslie We always tell our guests/family to come or bring their jammies or comfy clothes with them at the holidays & New Year’s. I think it would go well! People like being comfy.
