I make a mean salsa with a food processor.
peanut butter, cookie dough, soups
What kind of soup? And people make cookie dough in food processors? Who knew?
Chopped or shredded cabbage, carrots, onions, garlic, celery, turnips, zucchini, etc.
Don’t most soups start w. sauté chopped onions in a little olive oil, then add…...
Gazpacho is a perfect example of a quick and easy soup.
JCS, I make shortbread cookie dough in the food processor. I use the pulse function to get a crumbly dough from butter and flour.
For soup, I like to puree roasted red peppers or roasted pumpkin. Sooo good!
lazy cheese grating, all sorts of sauces. sauces all over the got damn place. just start throwing stuff in and tasting it every once in a while.
grating large amounts of cheese and making pastry dough.
There are dozens of great dips and spreads that you can make in a food processor. Here’s one of my favorite:
Cheesy Artichoke Spread:
1 cup grated parmesan cheese
1 14-oz can artichoke hearts
Blend ‘em up in the food processor until they’re pretty smooth, then microwave for 30 seconds (or until the cheese gets warm and gooey). Serve on toasted pumpernickel bread.
Careful, it’s addictive… =)
Fake Mashed Potatoes
One frozen bag caulifower (cooked in microwave with a bit of water)
3 Tablespoon cream cheese
2 Tablespoons butter
Salt and Pepper.
Great quick side dish with Roteresserie Chix you get at a store
It makes homemade piecrust so easy
PS. You can make the cauliflower puree w. fresh veggies (break into florets, nuke or steam w. a little water), blend and serve w. a little salt, curry, cumin or just throw in some dried cranberries. Not as rich as Jill E’‘s w. cream cheese and butter but fine.
grating. that’s how i do my latkes.
