Do plastic retainers leach carcinogens?

Do plastic retainers leach carcinogens? I am to wear it 24/7 for the first year. I’m a bit worried because it’s inside the warm atmosphere of the mouth, and I’m constantly swallowing saliva.

the only gross thing you have to worry about is the shit that gets on your retainer over the years. i brush my teeth 3 or 4 times a day and ALWAYS before bed, when i wear my retainer, but it still gets gross after a while.
