@wildpotato You don’t really need toy cleaner. You can just use antibacterial soap. If you get a wand-shaped vibrator you can put a condom over it, which makes cleanup really easy.
Most bullets don’t have a coating, they’re just silvery with some kind of metallic sheen. (I think they’re all plastic, so not sure what this coating is… how sketchy.) Vibratex, the company that makes the rabbit, makes two pretty good bullets that are both regular plastic, so at least you’re not in for any surprises from the material. @MissAnthrope is right that the kind with the wire that separates from the remote is better. Neither of these separate, but they seem to have pretty reliable motors. The mini-pearl is about two inches, pink plastic, and runs about medium speed. The red zinger is really tiny and really fast, red plastic. The honey bear is the same motor as the mini pearl, I think, with a vinyl bear over the top which softens the vibrations. It’s cute, but harder to clean.
Doc Johnson makes the standard silver bullet. It’s really popular, and the power on a scale from one to ten is maybe a seven. You probably have to replace them every six months to a year depending on care. I forgot to mention that this company also makes pocket rockets, which are pretty popular. It’s a massager about as big as two fingers, hard plastic, and you just use the tip, which has little nubs on it. The advantage to this is that it’s small and has no cord, but they only have one speed which can make it harder to reach orgasm. In general, if you know a speed that works for you, this can be a good toy to consider. They come with warranties, but you have to return it to the company, not the store, because most stores will never ever ever take back your used vibrator. not that some people didn’t try D:
Fun factory also makes really good handheld massagers which are a little bigger with different speed settings. They’re super pricey.
Bullets are so cheap that it’s pretty much ok to buy any brand, as long as the store battery-tests it for you. This lets you know that it works, and you can hold it in your hand to get an idea of the speed. There’s a line of three bullets where the cord is removable from the remote, I think by California Exotic Novelties, called bullet persuasion, cartridge companion, and… uhh, I can’t remember the last one. All bombed out, I think. These are pretty cheap, maybe 15 bucks, and pretty strong/ reliable. They are all the same thing, just different sizes.
Some bullets also have a small rubber bunny-looking thing that goes over the top. Some women really like these I think the ears wiggle or something but it seems to me like it might just be a pointless way to make an ordinary toy “cuter,” and therefore more popular. Anyway, a good rule of thumb is, if you pay more than maybe 20, 25 dollars for a bullet, you are probably getting ripped off.
