Have you ever read The Heavenly Life by James Allen?
This book was introduced to me by a friend and has since changed my life. I’m wondering how many people know of James Allen and this book and what they think of his ideas.

Living a heavenly life while not being in heaven, why would you want for that? It seems like it would just be a slight change in life style. You’d be surprised by how many people read those kind of things. The book seems to be about basic meditation and mindfulness. I am just judging the book by its cover, so I could be wrong in many ways.
I have read “As a Man Thinketh,” but not The Heavenly Life. Nowadays much of his writing would be considered mundane, but back then it was probably very avant-garde. From a modern perspective he didn’t impress me.
I haven’t read As a Man Thinketh, so I can’t really comment on it, but I’ll give it a gander. Do you feel his writing is mundane because the ideas are no longer fresh? Or is it the style or approach he takes that makes it mundane?
@drewwhitney Do you feel his writing is mundane because the ideas are no longer fresh
That’s the one.
