Do you think there could be safety concerns around the new Mini in-car entertainment system?
Here’s the news story MINI plans in-car entertainment revolution
Do you think it might influence people to drive in an erratic way to affect the sound system or unconsciously drive in an unnatural way due to the background music?

That would irritate me no end.
This might be the worst fucking idea I have heard in the last month.
And I discussed putting BBQ sauce on Top Ramen with someone on Sunday.
I agree, bad idea. Sounds dangerous to me. I think more people should start accepting the fact that vehicles are deadly weapons and should be treated as such. There are too many “car activities” that take place already.
BBQ sauce on Top Ramen? ick!
I think it’s actually a safety precaution. If you exceed the speed limit it changes to one of Miley Cyrus her songs until you slow down.
As an audio person, it’s interesting the acoustic and engineering sense; but as someone who drives 30k miles per year and sees how easily distracted people can be, I see your point.
On the third hand (LOL), as a person who drives a MINI Cooper S 6-speed turbo, I tend to think that the car attracts people who are actively engaged drivers as it is not a luxurious vehicle where you barely have to steer it… The car feels every bump and has stiff handling and tight steering, most Americans don’t like that.
I am sure that their risk assessment people will look it over before it goes into production; and as stated in the article they aren’t even giving a tentative model year for release. We may never even see it hit the road.
If that happened, everyone in my city would get one and they would all be driving worse than they already do.
