What do I when I am home sick and bored?

Asked by marigold1007 (3points) October 13th, 2009

So, day 2 of being home with a fever, and I have watched every worthwhile movie OnDemand, and several definitely not worthwhile, and I am colossally bored! I have very little energy and even less motivation, so your work is cut out for you. What should I do?

Sleep—it’s healing.

I don’t know, I did next to nothing that week I had the flu back in Novemeber 2007. I watched CSI Miami every night (A&E had a marathon every night) but during the day I barely did anything. I came online sometimes on AIROW but I started shivering so much and feeling lightheaded that I had to lie down again. Sometimes it’s good to just rest and play music or something.

All great ideas! I have read every book in my house and was desparate for reading material so I downloaded Kindle for iPhone and have blown through all of the Southern Vampire series. I know, not exactly War and Peace, but I have a fever so… Great chance to catch up on some unfinished crochet and knit projects. Though my creatvity and focus is pretty limited.

I try to get in a creative/ pensive mindset during times like these, when the weather changes and I’m sick. It’s definitely a shift from everyday life. I like having the windows open (not healthy) and burning candles or incense. I’m re-reading Lord of the Rings over the last few days, making lots of tea, painting, and practicing guitar. Something about rainy fall weather makes me enjoy being a homebody and doing things like this.
