I’ve seen it heaps of times before and never really considered it. On a rainy day, you often see really bright waves of colour on the asphalt. Usually, it’s where there was (or is) a huge puddle. What causes this?

@Zen You nailed it! GA for you!
And people need to get the gasket on their oil pans checked. That oil eventually ends up in the drainage that goes into rivers. I’m pretty sure that pisses the fish off. And you don’t want to make the fish angry. and I like to eat fish
You mean other people see that, too? Here, I thought it only happened to me and was caused by me tracking baby oil out of my house, where it is used in abundance (and we have no babies, by the way). Guess I learned something new today, after all….I sure love fluther.
See ya….Gary/wtf
When it’s dry and hot, I see all kinds of things on the road up ahead in the distance… I hate that fata morgana…
Oil from cars and from the tar itself , causes the magic rainbow colours .
I like seeing the steam rise when it rains on the roads / pavements
